I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Miguel Ortiz and I am currently residing in San Antonio, Texas.  I am seeking to serve our residents of District 23, Texas, and our Country with my candidacy for the Texas-U.S. Congressional District 23 seat.   You can read my biography and I respectfully invite you to browse our page and to be part of our team.  

During my more than 11 years of active service I personally experienced the hard demands that our soldiers are currently living.  I learned first hand the sacrifices that it takes to protect our Country and the price we pay for our freedom.  I also learned and applied the leadership that it takes to achieve our goals and to protect our soldiers in times of hardship.  I worked hard to accomplish my mission and at the same time to finish my education.

As an attorney I have advocated for hundreds of people, military and civilians alike, for what is right.  I have work with them and have dedicated hundreds of Pro-Bono hours and low cost services to protect those who do not have the financial resources to cover the cost.  I have served my community in numerous forms and I am committed to continue my work for the improvement of our community.  As a faculty member of the University of Phoenix I have had the opportunity to teach our future leaders what I know.  I have also dedicated myself to guide them in the right direction towards being a positive influence in our community.

As a father and grandfather, I have lived and seen the concerns of all American families and their worries for a better future and quality of life.  I personally know the demands that we face and the difficulties of raising our kids.  I know the importance of education and the impact that it could bring on our future.  I am aware of and have personally faced the challenges that we see in the job market and the hardship that our economy brings upon us. 

This is the time for change, and I am committed to undertaking this responsibility to build opportunities today so that we can provide our children with a bettertomorrow. My life experiences, military and civilian, have giving me a true understanding of the changes we need.  With my education I have the preparation I need to fight the issues and develop the solutions.  With awareness for the needs of the community and our veterans, and the issues of health care, immigration, national security, energy efficiency, and others, I am prepare to go forward. As your Congressman I will work tirelessly for all our citizens. I am respectfully asking for your vote, support, and to joint me. Together, we will set the foundation for the future of our children, and bring a new direction and the change we all need.
